This isn't just about studying Scripture—it's about applying biblical truth to emotional and psychological healing. Each session blends a biblical theme with therapeutic insight. Sessions are in-person and virtual.
Jesus is the perfect model for both compassion and boundaries, and when you study His rhythm of retreat and ministry, you see a blueprint for emotionally healthy living.
The Psalms, the Book of Job, and the story of Lazarus (John 11) each offer profound insight into the experience of grief and lament—and together, they form a deeply human and spiritual guide for processing sorrow in the presence of God.
Anxiety and trust are central themes in both Matthew 6 and Philippians 4. These passages don’t just acknowledge the reality of human worry—they offer a sacred invitation to trade fear for faith, and to find peace not through control, but through connection with God. Together, they form a deeply spiritual and practical roadmap for navigating anxiety with trust.
Genesis 3, Romans 8, and Ephesians 2 each reveal a different part of the story of shame, redemption, and identity in Christ. When read together, they show us how shame entered the world, how Christ responds to it, and how our identity is forever redefined through His love and grace.
Forgiveness and letting go are central to both Luke 15 and Matthew 18, but each passage offers a unique perspective on what it means to forgive and release what burdens us. Together, they paint a fuller picture of God’s heart for reconciliation and our call to extend that same grace to others and ourselves.
Renewing the mind is at the heart of spiritual growth, emotional healing, and personal transformation—and both Romans 12:2 and 2 Corinthians 10:5 give us key insight into how that process happens and why it matters.
The Bible calls us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2) and to “take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
(2 Corinthians 10:5)
Jesus tenderly invites, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7) and “Do not be anxious about anything… but present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
Lamentations 3:31-33, for example, acknowledges grief yet affirms that God “will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love.”
This specialized Bible study aims to use the Scriptures to learn how to cope with negative events successfully
emotions that otherwise leave us incapable of managing our mental health and wellness.
I desire you to know how to readily use the Bible as your primary reference when navigating
situations that seem psychologically unbearable. When we understand the role of negative
emotions and defense mechanisms, we are empowered to defeat the inner critic.
Through the practical application of sound biblical principles, we are reassured to transform our thoughts.
Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
Depression and sadness are two of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. These emotions typically invade our daily routine and leave us feeling stuck. Through therapeutic Bible study, you find solutions in the Word of God that will empower you to overcome the heaviness in your spirit and be motivated to live life to the fullest.
Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Many individuals experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that are symptomatic of post-traumatic events. God's words can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the
process of grief and healing.
2 Timothy 1:7 "For God gave us a spirit, not of fear
but of power and love and self-control."
Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
Grief is a normal response to loss during or after a disaster or other traumatic event. Grief can happen in response to loss of life, as well as to drastic changes to daily routines and ways of life that usually bring us comfort and a feeling of stability.
Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Lamentations 3:31-33 "For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion,
so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone."
